Music and Worship

Worship

Worship is the natural expression of the heart awakened by God. Worship includes every part of our lives.

As we gather, music and singing are simply the overflow of hearts caught up in God, as we live our lives surrendered to Him. Sing to him a new song; play skilfully, and shout for joy. (Psalm 33:3)

We seek to be culturally relevant in the crafting of our Sunday services, reflecting a Pentecostal flavour.

Music

The Israelite musicians in the temple played whatever instruments that were available in those days. Asaph, the chief musician, played the cymbals. If Asaph had had access to a set of electronic drums he would almost certainly have used them. At Elim Hope, the whole congregation praises God with songs that vary between ‘contemplative worship’ to ‘outright spiritual rock.’ We sing some of the oldest and finest hymns as well as more recent compositions.

We hope you will join us soon in singing a new song to the Lord.
